Ah my good friend troubleshooting. I’ve always been good at this. I’ve had plenty of experience, over 13 years of working with computers, so I can usually figure out why something isn’t working fairly quickly. Learned about using debug in a Cisco router, which I’m sure will come in handy when I’m configuring my lab and something isn’t working right just yet.
I’m looking forward to tomorrows lesson on Security. I really like security. Something about locking something down so people can’t get in and mess with your system. I especially love encryption. If I had my way I’d send all my emails encrypted, but then no one would like me. 🙂 Going to go over Firewalls tomorrow as well in the security section. I have two Cisco firewalls, a 515E and a 501 PIX. I haven’t had much time to play with them yet, however I’m wanting to get them online and integrated into my CCNA lab. After this next lesson that will be it for the CCENT, and I can start my next phase of lessons. I plan on taking the full CCNA exam rather than splitting them in two. I’m not really fond of exams, so less is more in my opinion.
Tomorrow I’ll write up something on everything I’ve learned to date and how my lab is going. I’m still waiting on a few other pieces I want for my lab. So it won’t be until the end of next week before I have everything (hopefully), then I can start trying out some labs. That’s going to be fun!
