I tried to get my two WIC-1DSU-T1’s working together today. I believe I set them up correctly, however I found you can’t just use a normal cross-over cable to connect to two cards together. You need to get (or make) a special T1 cross-over cable. I’ve decided to make it myself. It’s been a few years since I had to do this, so it will be good practice.
Interface serial 0/1
service-module t1 clock source internal
service-module t1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64
service-module t1 framing esf
service-module t1 data-coding normal
service-module t1 linecode b8zs
ip address 10.1.0.1 255.0.0.0
The other DSU the only change is the IP address and the line service-module t1 clock source line.
Once I get my cable all finished I’ll be able to verify everything works. My plan is to use the T1 to connect my live network with my lab network, should be interesting to see how it works.
As for my labs and videos, I’ll be going over RIP and OSPF again this weekend, and I think I’ll review subnetting. The more practice I get on that subject the faster and better I’ll be.
